· 2-year Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation from NSCC or equivalent institution.

· Eligible for NSTRA classification as a level 2 programmer.

· Minimum of 3 years recent experience in a LTC or Community recreation setting.

· Demonstrated Leadership and Administrative abilities with evidenced effective communication skills.

· Regular and consistent attendance is essential.

· Must be a dependable and responsible person who is able to demonstrate and provide empathy and patience when working with residents and able to work well with all levels of staff.

· Must be physically and mentally able to perform job duties with minimum of Supervision.

· Provision of a valid and current Vulnerable Sector Check.

We have acquired a license for a virtual reality system tailored specifically for the needs of the elderly with an array of programs, activities and content to engage our clients in experiences and activities that they could not access or enjoy otherwise.
