The Team

The Tools and Monitoring AIOps Platform Enablement team is responsible for enabling all our Operations and Development teams Globally across the Enterprise with our AI enhanced observability, monitoring, automated root cause analysis, automated recovery, and incident notification solution (AI assisted Operations). Working with your Implementation, Engineering, and Service Now development teammates, the vision is to provide technical support, solutions and training to meet the needs of our customers

The role:

To support the vision, we are seeking a Solutions Architect who will play an important part in the team to achieve the desired goals. By contributing technically and analytically, you will help teams implement a AIOps solution to enable them to view and address the digital issues they face. You will work closely with the Application development, support, service reliability and project managers from all lines of business globally to support teams in ensuring all Operational Readiness observability requirements are met or exceeded. You will be expected to provide recommendations on best practices and enhancements that are in line with the bank's technology road map. In addition, the candidate will also work towards identifying knowledge gaps and helping formulate solutions to narrow the gaps by creating, designing, and facilitating training for support teams. Finally, you will be contributing to continuous improvement projects outside the day-to-day tasks and assist in major incidents for troubleshooting application performance.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Provide solutioning of Observability and Monitoring in accordance with Scotia standards.

  • Provide training by identifying knowledge gaps, designing, facilitating, and assessing the training solutions including maintaining the repository of training resources on Confluence. The incumbent is required to be part of continued development and maintenance of multiple training resources including participation in regular drop-in training clinics

  • Assist project leader or Manager on projects the team has been assigned by providing assistance with the development of detailed workplaces and monitoring progress against plan.

  • Provide technical guidance and review to other team members by conducting technical walkthroughs.

  • Build monitoring solutions where required.

  • Keep current on rapidly changing technological trends, document, self teach new technologies and maintain an understanding of the department's business and technology strategies.

  • Conduct a semi-annual review of existing Operational Support Model to ensure accuracy and usability of documents.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 5+ years of experience in Application Performance Monitoring Tools, better if specifically, in Dynatrace, Aternity, Foglight, Splunk. Google monitoring

  • Proficient at Time / Task management

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow ITOM and Confluence

  • Good interpersonal and expert communication skills written and verbally with colleagues, senior management, external vendors, and various business lines

  • Diverse IT Experience such as modern programming languages/scripting, application support, database, middleware, Operating Systems and infrastructure skills.
