Hours: 20 hours per week
Location: East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash NS
Reports To: Manager of Financial Services
Compensation: 22.97 per hour


About Us:
East Cumberland Lodge is a 74-bed long-term care facility with a rich history of providing excellent care to our residents. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team on a part-time basis.


Position Overview:
The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for administering the accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of invoices, and maintaining financial records. This role requires proficiency in financial software, including Sage 50 and Excel, and experience in using a variety of software applications.

Key Responsibilities:
Process and verify invoices for accuracy, proper approvals, and coding to appropriate accounts.
Prepare payments, ensuring all vendor invoices are paid promptly and accurately.
Maintain accounts payable records and files in an organized and secure manner.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues with invoices.
Working directly with vendors to maintain up to date contact/payment information.
Assist in month-end closing activities, including the preparation of accounts payable reports.
Collaborating to improve processes and ensure compliance with financial policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Proven experience in accounts payable or a related finance role.

Proficiency in Sage 50 software is required.
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with a variety of software applications. A diploma
or degree in finance, accounting, or business is considered an asset.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
effectively.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. A clear criminal record
check is required prior to employment.
