Job Description:

TD Finance, Treasury and Audit Indigenous Peoples Summer 2024 Internship/Co-op Program

Summary:

The TD Corporate Finance, Treasury and Audit teams are integral and trusted partners to businesses across the Bank, made-up of diverse teams with a range of strengths and capabilities contributing to TD's overall success. This Indigenous Peoples Internship Program is intended to recognize outstanding Canadian post-secondary students (both academically and with respect to extra-curricular and / or community service), who identify as an Indigenous person (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities) with world class early career experiences. This co-op/ intern role will include an opportunity to work in-person, virtually or hybrid, in the following areas within our Finance, Treasury and Audit functions (pls indicate your top 3 preferences in your application):

TD Co-op and Internship opportunities offer valuable work experience and exposure to TDs business and corporate functions. You will work with experienced colleagues, receive exceptional on-the-job training, and be part of a community of students at TD. During our summer 2024 summer internship program, you will have the opportunity to contribute to impactful work, grow as an individual and experience our culture of care.

In addition to your role, TD offers tailored programming throughout the summer internship/co-op term. This programming is designed to help you understand the TD businesses, build critical career capabilities, and broaden your professional network.

  • Career development and career planning
  • Panel and keynote speakers series providing exposure to TD leaders & businesses
  • Lunch and Learn sessions on emerging topics (TD Innovation, Digital, AI)

JOB DESCRIPTION

This opportunity will provide important early career exposure to the financial services sector at a tier 1 international bank. This role will not only provide you experience in a professional setting, it will also equip you with skills and experiences that contribute to the completion of your studies and prepare you to build a career in your chosen discipline.

Accountabilities may include the following:

  • Assist with business planning, documentation, and reporting
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis, forecasts, and business cases in support of business initiatives
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects or deliver programs
  • Define opportunities for continued enhancements to business processes and make recommendations for process improvements
  • Implement process improvement
  • Participate in transformation and innovation activities to ensure TD businesses effectively and efficiently leverage data and technology to drive better sustainable business value

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Identify as an Indigenous person (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities)
  • Be enrolled in a relevant post-secondary program
    • We will work with you to align your career and educational interests with our corporate function opportunities
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Be interested or curious about a career in Finance, Treasury or Audit
  • Adept at using productivity tools and end-user software (such as MS Office suite).
    • Experience with more complex analytics tools would be an asset
  • Record of academic achievement, and demonstrated leadership with community involvement
  • Previous work experience
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts
  • Ability to take initiative and balance multiple tasks.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Demonstrated strong judgement, decision-making and analytical capabilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to engage colleagues, business partners and stakeholders
