Job Summary
As a member of the interdisciplinary team in the Geriatrics Division, the Personal Care Attendant (PCA) is responsible for providing support to outpatients in the clinic setting and supporting/collaborating with other team members on home visits. The PCA works in collaboration with all members of the interdisciplinary care team to achieve client/patient/resident-centered objectives. Duties are performed under the direction of a nurse or other health care provider and in keeping with the philosophy of client/patient/resident-centered care.
In this position, in addition to supporting older adults in the clinic setting, the PCA will be required to periodically provide support to clinical staff attending home visits or other sites within the community.

Job Qualifications
Successful completion of an approved/recognized Personal Care Attendant Program or other equivalency as determined by the employer. Equivalency may include completion of an adequate portion of the BN or Practical Nurse program to enable the applicant to meet a majority of the duties, responsibilities, and psychomotor competencies of the PCA.
Strong oral and written communication skills, be able to maintain effective working relationships with residents, staff, and families, demonstrate initiative, be able to work independently and prioritize work duties.
Several years of related experience in a health care or similar setting is preferred
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
Will be required to complete training in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
