The Role
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Corporate Services is accountable to provide leadership and direction for corporate services for the City of Mount Pearl, including overseeing the organizational functions of finance, human resource management, occupational health and safety, marketing, communications and economic development, procurement, general office administration (i.e.: mail distribution, reception, etc.), and information management and technology systems.
As a member of the senior management team, the Director contributes to the effective management of the City, leading development of longer-term policy and planning to address Council's strategic priorities. The Director of Corporate Services also acts as a liaison with committees of Council, providing expert advice and consultation regarding issues that arise.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior executive with a strategic business perspective; has formulated proactive financial, human resources, and information systems policy in response to legislative change and organizational need; managed complex and significant budgets; has built strategic relationships with stakeholders; and has led a committed team through all aspects of business relationships, business planning, analysis, and reporting. The ideal candidate will hold a relevant university degree and designation with at least ten years of progressive managerial experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and training acceptable to the City.
