Role Description

Reporting to the Preconstruction Manager, the Procurement Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of supplies and services while maintaining excellent relationships internally and externally. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the growth of the company, to work across all levels of the organization, and play an essential role in project work. You will act as the main point of contact for material suppliers and subcontractors from a procurement perspective.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating and negotiating contracts with suppliers.
  • Processing purchase orders, reviewing order details for accuracy, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Performing overseas procurement and ensuring products meet design specifications.
  • Reading and understanding construction blueprints.
  • Managing and organizing email correspondence.
  • Keeping meticulous records of procurement activities, contracts, and invoices for accurate reporting and compliance purposes.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of products that meet quality standards. Participating in quality control ensuring they meet established quality standards and specifications.
  • Hiring and managing installation contractors.
  • Ensuring materials and supplies are readily available as needed.
  • Assisting in analyzing procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve overall procurement processes.
  • Collaborating with internal team and external contractors to ensure seamless coordination and communication throughout the procurement process.
  • Ensuring adherence to all company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards related to procurement practices.

Your Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in procurement or purchasing in a construction environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the local regulations and market.
  • Able to handle overseas procurement when needed.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding construction blueprints.
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam and/or AutoCAD is a definite plus.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
