The Senior Business Analyst will join a dynamic team responsible for managing the Business Banking data consolidation process as part of a larger digital transformation initiative that is underway to streamline our current processes and improve usability and data integrity. Main functions of the Senior Business Analyst are to perform data profiling, business requirements gathering and documentation, data cleanup coordination, business testing, and daily Operational support as required. The incumbent will work closely with the project Business Leads, Development Team and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from different business lines and functional areas.
This role is responsible for implementing industry leading data solutions and processes that supports Risk and Capital Management as well as Internal and Regulatory reporting.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
• Collaborate with business partners and project teams to understand current & future state processes and data needs
• Assist the Business Lead in designing in future state end-to-end processes to meet business requirements
• Complete data profiling to support solution design and facility data cleanup as required
• Provide suggestions for process, system usability and other enhancements
• Document business requirements for validation with Business Leads and SMEs (including process flows)
• Perform Business testing (UAT and BAT) of new releases and prepare report for Business Lead(s)' review
• Escalate issues to Business Lead(s) for resolution as applicable
• Maintain and contribute to the prioritization of user feedback and defect logs
• Complete other related duties which entails participating in Encore operational activities, including problem solving complex issues.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have experience with:
• Undergraduate degree in technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required (or business degree with diverse project experience in business analyst capacity)
• Experience in gathering and documenting business requirements, and mapping process and data flows
• Financial Services experience with risk management knowledge
• 5-8 years of relevant work experience (in projects) is an asset
• Understanding of Business Banking (Non-Retail Credit) processes including credit adjudication will be a plus
• Familiarity with the Credit Systems (C360, CARDS, nCINO) and internal systems/layers (Encore) will be a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to develop innovative solutions to address gaps
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively to ensure that the team's objectives are met, with high degree of flexibility as work may need to be re-prioritized based on business needs.
• Proficient in SQL, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio tools
• Detail-oriented. Self-starter.
