You will contribute to the overall success of the Physical Threat Intelligence Unit, Corporate Security, and Legal & Corporate Affairs, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives, and all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures globally

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Collect and analyze information and data from open and closed sources on existing and emerging physical security risks and threats stemming from vectors including but not limited to crime, terrorism, conflict, climate, and protest activity to discern implications for Scotiabank employees, business operations, and assets across the globe.

  • Responsible for monitoring open- and closed-sources to proactively identify physical security threats and risks to the Bank.

  • Independently prepare clear and concise intelligence assessments about various threats and risks to address intelligence requirements set by key stakeholders.

  • Effectively communicate insights via written products and oral briefings to both technical and non-technical audiences, translating complex information into actionable recommendations for key stakeholders within Corporate Security and across the Bank.

  • Collaborate with partners across the Scotiabank enterprise, including other Intelligence Units, to facilitate information sharing and joint analysis.

  • Assist Intelligence management and senior analysts with creation and implementation of new intelligence product lines to enhance physical threat and risk assessment capabilities. Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and effectiveness of intelligence workflows for physical threat and risk management.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Undergraduate degree in Intelligence, Political Science, Global Affairs, Journalism, International Relations, Data Analysis, Criminal Intelligence, or related/equivalent experience required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in intelligence analysis, criminal intelligence analysis, data analysis, or a similar field is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) methods and techniques, structured analytic techniques, and qualitative/quantitative analysis is required.
  • Experience with data management and the use of analytical and geospatial software (e.g., Power BI, ArcGIS Pro) is preferred.
  • Previous intelligence experience in the private sector, law enforcement or at a government agency at the federal, provincial, or municipal level is preferred.
  • Fluency in English required; Spanish is a strong asset.
