Meridia Recruitment Solutions is pleased to be partnered with Fero Waste & Recycling Inc., a reputable subsidiary of The Municipal Group of Companies, to bring a passionate and ambitious Senior Accountant to bring to their team in Moncton, NB.

Working closely with management and other accounting staff, the Senior Accountant will have a strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and monthly reporting as you will be responsible for the month-end processes for several companies. This role will be the first point of contact for all things finance related for the operations team.

Responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and financial working papers.
• Produce monthly financial statements & management reports supported by analysis and commentary in a timely manner.
• Assist in coaching and developing other accounting staff.
• Provide analytical, forecasting and project support to senior management.
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
• Coordinate year-end audit requirements and communication with external auditors.
• Help with various process improvement projects as assigned.
• Other related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• CPA designation or near completion.
• Excellent communication skills both orally and written.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and controls.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at once in a deadline driven environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically Excel.
