Meridia is pleased to partner with Right Traffic LLC., a leading company in the Traffic Control industry, in the recruitment of a Director of Procurement. This role will be based out of Right Traffic's national headquarters in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Right Traffic is investing in innovative, state-of-the-art products and services, and they're changing the game with regards to traffic control. Now the second largest traffic control company in North America, Right Traffic is experiencing incredible growth, as evidenced by their recent acquisitions of multiple operating units in Canada and the United States.
Role Description
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Procurement will have the opportunity to lead and shape Right Traffic's procurement strategy on a global scale. This senior role requires a strategic thinker who can develop and implement scalable procurement policies, manage large-scale supplier relationships, and deliver measurable improvements in cost efficiency and quality. The Director of Procurement will play a critical role in aligning procurement operations with the organization's long-term goals, and they will navigate complex challenges in sourcing and supply chain management.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies to support growth and operational excellence.
- Establishing long-term partnerships with suppliers while leading high-level negotiations on terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Defining and achieving objectives for cost savings, supplier diversity, and sustainability.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement processes, leveraging technology to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborating with executive team to align procurement initiatives with business objectives.
- Overseeing risk management strategies to address global supply chain disruptions and ensure business continuity.
- Building and managing a high-performing procurement team, fostering professional development.
- Analyzing and reporting procurement performance metrics to the executive team.
- Ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
Your Qualifications
As the ideal candidate, you will have experience working in a fast-paced, nimble organization. You have strong business acumen and the ability to align procurement with organizational strategy. You're also an experienced leader with extensive expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
Your qualifications include:
- Previous experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) strongly preferred. A Master's degree would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience within the construction, infrastructure or traffic control industries is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
- Familiarity with procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
