ABOUT THE ROLE

Under the supervision of the Director of Engineering, the Project Manager oversees Sanitary Stormwater Master Plan Upgrades projects from concept through implementation. The role includes defining project scopes, developing detailed plans, schedules, and budgets, coordinating engineering and construction plans and specifications, managing the procurement process, and administration of contracts and agreements. Responsibilities also include preparing and managing cost estimates, engaging with stakeholders, coordinating resources, and ensuring quality control. The Project Manager will handle coordination and implementation of project changes, as well as maintaining accurate project documentation. Compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations, as well as environmental and safety standards, is essential.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-year post-secondary diploma in engineering technology (civil engineering) or approved combination of education and experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (or equivalent) is required
  • Certified as an Engineer-in-training (EIT), Engineering Technician (C-Tech), or Technologist (CET) in civil engineering is a strong asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant project management experience.
  • Familiar with the theories and methodologies of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and/or Agile methodologies
  • Previous municipal government experience is considered an asset.

Terms and Conditions of Employment:

  • Non-union position.
  • Operates out of the Town Hall main office (60 Pleasant Street).
  • Regular hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (35 hours per week).
  • The position involves working in a combination of office, industrial, and construction environments.
  • This position may require attendance at after-hours Council meetings.
  • This position may be required to attend emergency management training and be employed as part of a Town of Bridgewater emergency management response effort.
  • Salary: $75,220 - $97,207 ,commensurate on qualifications
  • Term: This position is externally funded, and anticipated to have a duration of approximately eight (8) years and will be reviewed at that time.
  • This position is eligible for the Town's full benefit package, including defined benefit pension plan.
