Job Summary
NL Health's Pharmacy Department is seeking a highly motivated professional to fill a Clinical Pharmacist IIA position. The successful candidate will report to the Regional Pharmacy Manager of Oncology Services and work with the oncology leadership team to provide direction and leadership to the Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians working in oncology clinical services and chemotherapy distribution. The Clinical Pharmacist II acts as a liaison with Division Managers, nurses, physicians, and other health care employees and external stakeholders. This position shares frontline responsibilities and performs specialized pharmaceutical work in overseeing daily operations in chemotherapy distribution. Work includes: application of national oncology practice standards (NAPRA, USP 800) and accreditation standards; supervision of oncology drug acquisition; management of oncology drug shortages; preparation and coordination of educational and orientation activities relating to chemotherapy distribution; training, certification, and recertification of Clinical Pharmacists and Technicians in sterile hazardous drug preparation; training Clinical Pharmacists in oncology drug distribution; oversight of quality assurance programs; policy development and implementation; providing consultation as a clinical expert in oncology; involvement with continuous improvement processes; and performing frontline oncology distribution functions.

Job Qualifications
Graduation from a recognized School of Pharmacy is required.
Licensure with the Newfoundland and Labrador Pharmacy Board and membership with the Pharmacists' Association of Newfoundland and Labrador is required.
Minimum of three years of hospital pharmacy experience within the last five years is required.
Knowledge of oncology clinical concepts, processes, and workflow and experience with direct patient care in oncology is an asset.
Prior supervisory experience would be an asset.
Doctor of Pharmacy Degree is an asset.
Completion of a hospital residency program is an asset.
Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and ability to plan, provide, and monitor the delivery of pharmaceutical services particularly in the area of oncology
Evidence of active involvement with continuous educational activities.
Demonstrated highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated facilitation skills among diverse groups.
Demonstrated competency in organizational, leadership, team building, change management, problem solving and decision-making skills.
A high level of independence and self-direction.
