We are seeking a full-time Resident Care Manager to join our team of professional, qualified leaders.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Resident Care, the incumbent is responsible for the safe and competent delivery of resident care and for the management of resident care services and personnel within their assigned unit(s).

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia.
• At least five (5) years experience in a clinical setting, three (3) at a management or leadership level.
• Experience in long term care preferred.
• Proven experience in forming partnerships with residents, families, employees, and others in shared decision making.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally, and in writing.
• Solid computer literacy skills with proficiency in MS Office.
• Knowledge of software applications including Staff Schedule Care, Point Click Care and InterRAI preferred.
• Ability to solve problems independently in pressure situations.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently, as well as part of the management and health care teams.
• Ability to plan, organize, manage and control services within their area of responsibility.
• Knowledge of human resource management and scheduling in a 24/7 unionized environment.

• Ability to respect confidentiality of personnel and resident information.
• Committed to continuous learning - seeks out best practice and opportunities for self-development.
• Flexibility to work non-standard hours if required.
