UNB's Centre for Learning Futures supports innovative teaching and learning approaches through its Teaching and Transformative Learning unit across all modes of program and course delivery. The Centre for Learning Futures supports a variety of learning opportunities ranging from online academic programs and courses across a variety of disciplines to executive education, professional development and personal development opportunities. The Office of Experiential Education also operates within the Learning Futures Umbrella.

Salary Range: $63,327 - $86,308 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to Executive Director, UNB Online, the Program Manager, UNB Microcredentials is responsible to provide strategic direction and support the development, management and assessment of UNB microcredentials, both for-credit and non-credit in nature. The Program Manager will work with the Executive Director, and others, to develop and execute a market informed strategic development plan that supports the development and delivery of a variety of stand alone and combinable microcredentials that enhance UNB's educational, professional and personal impact locally, nationally, and globally, providing meaningful touch points for a broad and diverse set of learners.

  • Provide data driven advice on market trends, best practice and demand pockets as it relates to credit and non-credit microcredentials.
  • Develop, implement, communicate and manage a framework and associated policies relating to type and level of microcredentials, stand alone and combining requirements, badging and credentialing parameters.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and competitor moves, be familiar with market data and remain current with program, course and curriculum changes in academic and non-academic programming.
  • Develop, define, implement and assess microcredential programming at UNB.
  • Be knowledgeable of and work within MPHEC and University specific regulations.
  • Be knowledgeable of and implement best practice in development, delivery, assessment and credentialing practices.
  • Work with risk management and legal to ensure the integrity of the UNB brand is protected.
  • Develop a solid understanding of, and commit to follow all academic and non-academic regulations, policies and approval processes for course and programs.
  • Initiate and foster productive relationships and collaborations with key stakeholders both internal and external to UNB, including Faculties, professional organizations, industry organizations, professional service providers and partners as well as units within Learning Futures to identify and develop opportunities for stand alone and combinable microcredential programming including opportunities for new and innovative program development.
  • Lead and manage annual plans for the business success of UNB Executive Education and Professional Development, ensuring profitable growth and program integrity.
  • Advance the mission and strategic objectives of UNB by developing new financially sustainable programming based on the needs of the community and market research.
  • Assess and make recommendations to the Executive Director of UNB Online for microcredential programming, using ROI evaluation based on a framework that includes appropriate cost allocation, revenue generation potential and overall impact within the context of overall financial targets.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years academic and/or administrative program management experience in a university environment or equivalent.
  • 3 years experience in academic and professional program development, including microcredentials or "short" programs in a university environment or equivalent.

Additional Strengths

  • Graduate degree would be considered a strong asset.
  • Proven management and team building skills as a foundation for program development.
  • Proven success in developing and managing sustainable programming with positive ROI.
  • Commitment to excellence in the learning environment and optimization of the learner experience.
  • Knowledge of new methods of course delivery, technology and platforms for reaching new audiences.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing and using market data for effective decision making.
  • Commitment to the promotion of the importance of lifelong learning and professional advancement.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills as well as listening and perceptive capacities.
  • Professional sales experience would be considered an asset.
