Job Description:

The Risk Management Communications & Colleague Enablement team supports the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Risk Management Leadership Team (RMLT) in developing and delivering a comprehensive communication and colleague engagement strategy that ensures the Risk strategy and vision are clearly communicated, understood and integrated across all programs. In addition, the team ensures that all engagement and learning strategies, tactics and key messages permeate across the organization, by working with the RMLT and internal partners to create consistent messaging frameworks that are aligned with Risk's strategic priorities and regulatory expectations.

Risk Management is looking for a seasoned and versatile communications and colleague engagement professional dedicated to advancing the colleague experience through communication, learning and engagement programs.

The Successful Candidate:

Reporting into the Senior Manager, Communication and Colleague Enablement, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development and execution of a communications and colleague engagement programs that enhance overall engagement and promote Risk Management's inclusive culture, this includes the generation for new programs and communications to cater to our evolving workforce.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the development and execution of communication and colleague engagement programs such as Risk Awareness Week, Pulse, town halls, conferences, learning programs and other initiatives impacting the colleague experience.
  • Lead the development and execution of written remarks and internal communications for Risk leaders and key audiences that will strengthen and promote Risk culture and behaviors.
  • Lead the planning, coordination and execution of hybrid and in-person events including event planning, logistics, site visits, stakeholder meetings etc.
  • Provide communications support on event planning activities to ensure messages to stakeholders and /or internal / external partners are consistent, appropriate and aligned to business strategies and management direction. This includes, but not limited to preparing speaking notes, briefs and video scripts etc.
  • Champion communication and colleague engagement best practices and advocate for an exceptional colleague experience.
  • Work with third-party vendors, negotiate contracts and review clauses as appropriate.
  • Participate in cross-functional / enterprise initiatives as a subject matter expert providing guidance for complex situations.
  • Work closely with Risk Management partners and be a trusted advisor to the leaders driving the required communication and colleague engagement programs.
  • Promote TD Risk Management's brand internally and externally by actively pursuing and aligning to industry groups, networks, and associations.
  • Create creative collateral such as infographics and visuals to enhance overall engagement on a multitude of initiatives and programs.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in Communications and/or event management environment, or comparable communications or event experience.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, and a passion for storytelling.
  • Ability to develop and implement interesting and innovative communications plans to effectively drive business objectives.
  • Experience in leading and coordinating large-scale events and programs in a virtual, hybrid and in-person environment.
  • Experience with technology platforms and virtual event management tools and capabilities.
  • Ability to work with colleagues confidently and professionally at all levels, including Senior Executives.
  • Experienced in building comprehensive and complex strategies as well as practical experience delivering against those plans at a tactical level.
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work with multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Ability to manage and deliver on competing initiatives under tight timelines while staying resilient and positive under pressure.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the business and technology, organizational practices and disciplines.
  • Commitment to ensuring there is an integrated approach with other business management areas, broader organization, and enterprise wide.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to balance changing requirements and priorities.
  • Strong software experience in full Microsoft Suite as well as, Webex and Sharepoint.
