Job Description:

The Global Financial Crimes Risk Management department is accountable for establishing TDBG's FCRM Program to ensure that all businesses remain compliant with regulatory requirements in the jurisdictions in which TDBG operates. The Sanctions / ABAC Centre of Excellence (COE) reports to the AVP and Deputy Head of Sanctions Compliance and Anti-Bribery/Corruption (ABAC) Program.

The Financial Crime Risk Investigation Support Officer I position works as part of a team within a dynamic Business Unit – Sanctions Name screening Team. It's the people in our team that has created an environment of teamwork, recognition, and success.

Job Description:

  • This Representative is responsible to review and identify Sanctions Watchlist Management ( WLM ) alerts and forward the initial alert for further investigation.
  • Conduct review on incoming alerts from different lines of business following the steps documented in the related FIU procedures and guideline.
  • Performs initial review on incoming alerts and identify any potentially unusual clients to either close as no further action or to escalate for further investigation if warranted.
  • Monitor status of alerts assigned and prioritize accordingly to ensure cases are being completed within SLAs and benchmarks.
  • Completes reviews with respect to alerts generated in AML systems and determine what needs to be escalated for further review to PEP Team
  • Ensure the quality of the alerts are maintained through:
  • Manage work volumes effectively and efficiently and according to alert aging to meet internal benchmarks and/or regulatory requirements such as, the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA) and all other Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations designed to prevent financial-related crimes against the government according to established TD Bank policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
  • Meet or exceed assigned individual productivity targets.
  • Review of various Adverse Media alerts and take appropriate action to escalate accordingly to the business units
  • Review MSB alerts and take appropriate action to escalate accordingly to the business units
  • Ensure FIU Name Screening procedures and Job Aid are followed in all reviews and appropriately documented on system being utilized to work alerts.
  • Ensure that all escalations other group such as PEP, Sanctions and High Risk are presented appropriately and in a timely fashion. Adhere to attention to detail to eliminate errors with escalations.

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION

  • 1-2 years of industry related experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of and ability to explain CIP and/or KYC, and/or AML and ATF regulations, requirements and procedures
  • Research and analytical ability to review information and draw appropriate conclusions
  • Excellent team player and effective communicator, including ability to deal professionally with branch issues, problems and questions - including excellent verbal phone skills and writing skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and good organizational skills
  • Ability to coordinate a varied workload, meeting deadlines as required
  • PC skills, including ability to use various searchable databases
  • University degree, college diploma, or equivalent considered an asset
