Egg Farmers of Nova Scotia (EFNS) represents the province's 24 licensed egg and pullet farms, who are dedicated to providing Nova Scotians with a stable supply of fresh, high quality, nutritious, locally produced eggs.
Position Overview
The Program Coordinator's primary responsibilities are to manage the movement of surplus egg product (Industrial Product) from grader to processor in partnership with Egg Farmers Canada (EFC) and to provide administrative support for on-farm programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Industrial Product
- Coordinate movement of IP with EFC, processors, grading stations and transportation companies
- Enter data and generate reports using Excel and the Egg Information Management System (EIMS)
- Maintain spreadsheets, prepare reports, submit declarations, reconcile accounts and maintain an inventory log
On Farm Programs
- Provide support to the Field Operations Manager for the on-farm programs
- Enter data, maintain records, and follow up on corrective actions
- Review lab results and distribute communications to appropriate parties
- Update producer website
General
- Participate on working committees, attend board meetings and support other team members as required
Qualifications
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Data entry and numeracy skills
- MS office (excel) and database experience
- Strong organization and coordination skills
- Agriculture experience considered an asset
Compensation
- 35-hour work week
- Starting salary between $50-55K
