Transform public service delivery as a key member of New Brunswick's executive leadership team. We're seeking visionary leaders for deputy minister roles that impact over 800,000 New Brunswickers across three departments due to recent and upcoming retirements:

• Service New Brunswick
• Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries
• Tourism, Heritage and Culture

While undertaking a search for these three positions, this competition has been expanded to also identify potential candidates for future deputy minister roles, should they arise.

As Deputy Minister, you will:

• lead departmental operations, budgets, and legislative development;
• shape strategic direction aligned with government priorities;
• champion inclusive policies that serve all New Brunswickers;
• drive evidence-based transformation;
• build diverse, high-performing teams;
• create meaningful impact in communities across the province; and
• work directly with Cabinet and fellow Deputy Ministers to chart New Brunswick's course during a pivotal time of transformation.

Essential Qualifications:

• Work at this level requires knowledge gained through an undergraduate or graduate degree, along with a minimum of 10 years of progressive responsible work experience including 2 years leading a team at an executive level.
• proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder operations
• track record of delivering measurable strategic impact
• strong financial acumen and risk management capabilities
• success in building inclusive, high-performing teams

We recognize that leadership excellence can come from various paths. Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and skills will be considered.

Some positions require written and spoken competence in French and English. Others will require written and spoken competence in English or in French only. Please state your language capability.

Salary range: $166,244 - $219,154

Note: Deputy Ministers are subject to the Conflict of Interest Act and Civil Service Act regarding political activities.
