Job Information and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Manager-Student Accessibility, the Exam Accommodations Administrator:
· Is responsible for test and exam accommodations at the Fred Smithers Centre for Student Accessibility. This includes working with students and faculty to ensure that accommodations are put into place and coordinated in a timely manner
· Assists students with test and exam accommodation conflicts
· Ensures tests and exams through the Fred Smithers Centre have been adapted to meet the required accommodations, i.e. translation to braille, use of specialized software and/or adaptive technology - Kurzweil, enlarging tests, and setting up Dragon files
· Recruits, trains and supervises student invigilators and peer notetaking staff, inclusive of conducting interviews and payroll management
· Collects daily statistical information from test and exam requests
· Under the direction of the Manager, participates and organizes ongoing projects including research. Drafts proposals for various tasks and projects
· Promotes accessibility and inclusion across campus and the broader university community provides accessibility support to faculty as needed.
· Other related duties as required
Experience and Education Requirements
To be the successful Exam Accommodations Administrator you will have:
· Undergraduate degree
· Minimum 1 years directly related experience
· Experience using specialized software and/or adaptive technology
· Knowledge and understanding of disability issues
· Knowledge of Accommodate Software would be an asset
· Excellent knowledge of MS Office
· Ability to work flexible hours including Saturdays and evenings, as required
· Ability to work in a multifaceted environment as required
