Office of Experiential Education

The Office of Experiential Education is an integral part of UNB Centre for Learning Futures that supports UNB's online programming through its UNB Online unit, innovative teaching and learning approaches through its Transformative Teaching and Learning unit, and community-based language, leisure and arts programming. The Office of Experiential Education provides support to ensure that every UNB student has the opportunity to engage in experiential learning during their degree, assists in creating more inclusive learning environments and embracing Indigenous knowledges, and supporting the holistic and transformational development of students in all learning environments.

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week

Salary Range: $51,924 - $67,489 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Director of Experiential Education, the Experiential Learning Engagement Coordinator will work with faculty to support and expand quality curricular experiential learning opportunities and will collaborate closely with other experiential learning practitioners across the University.

  • Assist faculty/staff/project leads with development of CEWIL ihub project applications and oversee the administration of these projects from approval to final reporting stage
  • Help faculty identify and navigate appropriate funding sources for curricular experiential learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with faculty members, leaders, and experiential learning staff in all UNB faculties to develop curricular experiential learning opportunities including reflective assessment options and best practices.
  • Support overarching UNB curriculum-based goals of increasing EL opportunities within courses, as well as supporting EDI-A approaches within these opportunities.
  • Stay current with evidence based experiential learning best practices and research.
  • Consult with instructors, administrators and student groups on the development of tailored programming needs
  • Plan and implement components of curricular and/or co-curricular programs and activities
  • Collaborate with the other units within The Learning Futures Centre to coordinate workshops and professional learning opportunities for UNB faculty and staff to increase knowledge and capacity for experiential learning at UNB.
  • Liaise with faculties and departments to support learning modules for EL skills and development of core competencies that support student skill development.
  • Support development and maintenance of the UNB EL Resource Hub via Sharepoint/UNB Website.
  • Coordinate and organize participation in events that increase the visibility and impact of the Office of Experiential Education including, but not limited to: Showcases/symposium of experiential learning projects, workshops and professional learning opportunities for UNB faculty and staff to increase knowledge and capacity for experiential learning at UNB, Career and job fairs held at UNB, and Orientation and student recruitment events
  • Deliver presentations to promote programs, opportunities and/or initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 1-3 years experience with project coordination, relationship building, and/or experiential education projects
  • Knowledge of theory, pedagogy and practice of experiential learning.
  • Knowledge and understanding of post-secondary student learning, student development and experiential learning.

Additional Strengths

  • Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to use and interpret data to make decisions and strong ability to communicate results effectively to various stakeholders.
  • Established presentation/facilitation and/or training experience both virtually and in person, at post - secondary level preferred.
  • Experience setting goals, developing plans and tracking performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement new programs, interact at all levels within the organization, and effectively manage budgets.
  • Experience developing administrative policies/procedures/processes.
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly with the MS Office Suite programs including Teams, Word, Excel, etc.
