Role Description
As part of the Executive Leadership Team, the Vice President of Construction & Development will oversee and lead all operations for the new construction division. This will include the implementation of systems and technology within the organization to create efficiencies, as well as providing direct oversight to all project teams. You will provide financial expertise and strategic guidance to both the business as a whole and on all stages of specific projects. Most importantly, you will increase client satisfaction by closely monitoring quality standards throughout a project lifecycle, ensuring an incredible final product.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to establish strategic plans, organizational goals, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for project teams;
- Identify and implement systems and technologies that will create efficiencies across the organization, providing training to project teams as needed;
- Monitor project performance and quality standards, being available to provide expertise and assist project team in resolving any challenges that may arise;
- Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback to team members, and work 1:1 with those who may have gaps in their skillset;
- Provide financial and budgeting expertise, at all levels of the organization, and throughout all phases of a project;
- Foster a culture of collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships project staff, site staff, subcontractors, and consultants;
- Determine manpower requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects, partnering with the Executive Leadership Team to ensure that adequate resources are in place.
Your Qualifications
As the ideal candidate, you are a seasoned construction and business leader, with demonstrated experience overseeing a portfolio of multiple projects and teams with large and complex budgets. You are known for your ability to implement technologies and processes that advance efficiency within a rapidly growing organization, while subsequently minimizing costs and increasing profitability. Lastly, given your technical skills and expertise in construction methodologies, you are comfortable supporting all phases of a project lifecycle and resolving any issues that may arise.
Qualifications include:
- 10+ years of progressive experience as a construction leader, with a proven track record of growing a business and supporting multiple project teams simultaneously;
- Civil Engineering or Construction Project Management degree/diploma from an accredited institution (a combination of education and industry experience would also be considered);
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be considered an asset;
- Strong knowledge of a variety of construction methods, materials, regulations, and safety standards;
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
- Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret complex budgets and financial documents;
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills;
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who is driven by both individual and team success.
