Opportunity
The Financial Services Risk Management function of EY is looking for a Manager to oversee activities and participate in client engagements for its Financial Crime sub-service line.
With EY's Financial Crime offering, our clients benefit from having an experienced and reliable team of professionals to address issues and challenges related to Fraud Risk Management, Anti-money laundering (AML) – Terrorist Financing (TF) regulation, International sanctions process, Know your customer principles and processes, Anti-corruption-Anti Bribery regulation (ABAC), transaction monitoring or fraud alerts managements.
In your role, as Financial Crime Manager, you'll be given opportunities to develop your skills by working on a range of projects with a variety of clients. Our engagements typically involve managing multiple stakeholders and require you to advise our clients using your knowledge and experience to provide the desired outcomes. You are also responsible to develop and pursue the marketing strategy that creates awareness around our offering and supporting our corporate responsibility and sponsorship initiatives as part of our ambition to build better for all.
Your key responsibilities:
- Lead and work as part of a team to create valuable and practical insights for our clients, adapting methods and practices to fit their business needs
- Provide input into the development of innovative solutions to address complex financial crime risks and issues and help our clients meet global regulatory and risk management expectations
- Take responsibility for engagement planning, management, and leading teams in a variety of financial crime engagements
- Support bids and proposals for new client opportunities and grow existing relationships
- Mentor staff and provide performance feedback for members of your team
- Monitoring the regulatory environment and staying updated on new regulations and changes to existing requirements and guidelines.
- Meets and exceeds annual goals that contribute to the overall company objectives while acting in complete and total compliance with laws, regulations and policies
Skills and Attributes for Success:
- A clear understanding of the strategic implications of fraud risk management and financial crime regulation
- The ability to effectively offer guidance in managing and integrating a variety of regulatory directives
- Knowledge of the Canadian Financial Services industry
- High energy, maturity and leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position communication discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels
- Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all cultures, functions and management levels
- This role involves interaction with clients operating nationally and globally where fluency in French and English is required. Bilingualism in both French and English is therefore a requirement of this role
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- Functional knowledge of fraud risk management and the financial crime regulatory environment
- AML, KYC, Due Diligence, Sanctions and or Fraud work experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
- Sound technical knowledge of financial services businesses and products
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and managing expectations.
- Excellent communication skills to provide clear advice and guidance to clients and team members on regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
- Fluent in French and English – verbal and written communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience of leading teams, managing projects and working with others to deliver financial crime engagements
- Enthusiasm to be involved in marketing activity and developing the Financial Crime team
- A degree in engineering, statistics, economics, finance, accounting, business, or a related discipline.
- Master's degree / post graduate degree preferred but not required.
- 5+ years of experience in managing teams and operations preferably within the financial services industry
- Proven experience and comfort working in the financial crime sphere encompassing anti money laundering/terrorist financing and fraud.
