Quality Assurance Supervisor

This position reports to the Appetizer Plant Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor the Quality Assurance team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards.
• Collaborate with production and supporting departments to implement continuous improvement practices, focusing on process optimization and changeover streamlining.
• Review, verify, and maintain QA documentation, including Critical Control Point (CCP) records, ensuring compliance with internal standards and audit requirements.
• Actively participate in internal and external audits, addressing findings and driving quality improvement initiatives.
• Assist manufacturing teams in identifying and implementing effective corrective actions to resolve food safety and quality concerns.
• Compile, analyze, and present quality performance reports to production teams and management, providing actionable insights to improve operations.
• Engage in team discussions, including Toolbox meetings, to promote quality and safety awareness across the organization.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or Equivalent.
• Post-secondary education within a science specialty would be considered an asset.
• Previously experience would be considered an asset.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated understanding and application of the 5 S's would be considered an asset.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to maintain product quality and regulatory compliance would be considered an asset.
• Comprehensive knowledge of WHMIS and HACCP would be considered an asset.
• Strong computer literacy would be considered an asset.
• Must be able to work with products including but not limited to onions and wheat products.

• React to green wastes (wasted energy and water, air leaks, product leaks etc.) by submitting work orders for immediate repair
