Position: Human Resources Coordinator

Salary: Starting rate of $49,832 annually
The Opportunity
As the Human Resources Coordinator your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Recruiting
- Supports the recruitment and selection process: posts job ads, preliminary screening of resumes, coordinates interview schedules, assists with interview guide, conducts reference checks and may participate on the interview panel.
- Provides timely updates to hiring managers.
- Advises unsuccessful candidates.
- Provides select written correspondence to candidates and employees.
Orientation and On-boarding
- Orientates new employees on payroll, benefits, and entitlements. Coordinates staff introductions for new employees.
- Ensures proper documentation is completed and adds or updates employee records.
HR Data Management and Administration
- Maintains up-to-date personnel files including compensation and benefits, attendance, etc. Provides reports on such information as needed
- Provides admin support with HRIS
- support, etc.
Payroll and Benefit Reconciliation
- Process bi-weekly payroll for internal staff using Payworks
- Manage employee profiles and supplemental benefit payments using the payroll Software, including; creating and removing employee profiles, modifying EFT routes, adding and removing benefit payments
- Reconcile monthly insurance bill for SNS staff, enrolled PSO's, and CSIA for the Finance department.

Who You Are
The qualifications and skills that would make you successful in this role include:
- A post-secondary education in Commerce or Business Administration with a focus in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or equivalent
- The Ability to maintain professionalism while contributing to initiatives, whether in a team environment or on an individual assignment.
- Comfortable working with the Microsoft Suite (Teams, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- An understanding of the Nova Scotia Sport System would be considered an asset.
