Responsabilités

Acadia seeks a Facility Project Manager, Food Services in our Facilities Management department to fill a 24-month limited term contract. The Facility Project Manager, Food Services will be involved in the full lifecycle of renovation projects in food services facilities on campus, ensuring they align with university policies, sustainability goals, and operational commitments. The incumbent will collaborate with internal teams, external contractors, and consultants to manage multiple renovation and food services related projects to create and maintain functional, efficient, and safe food service environments that fulfill the university vision for a new era of food service on campus. The incumbent is a strong communicator and collaborator, and accountable to the university and our food service provider for project outcomes.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to manage food services construction and renovation projects.
  • Oversee major renovations, facility improvements, and commercial equipment upgrades, particularly in Acadia's Wheelock Dining Hall.
  • Manage all project phases: planning, budgeting, design, procurement, construction, quality assurance, and closeout.
  • Lead project teams and manage consultant and contractor performance to prevent project creep and budget overruns.
  • Oversee commissioning, maintenance planning, and project turnover activities.
  • Identify and resolve deficiencies or errors in designs and construction.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, building codes, health and safety standards, and university policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruption during projects.
  • Collaborate with financial teams to develop cost estimates, monitor budgets, and manage contractor payments.
  • Support applications for funding energy efficiency, accessibility, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Coordinate purchasing and procurement with the university's Procurement Office.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs and RFPs, ensuring compliance with public procurement processes.
Qualifications
  • Community College Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as engineering, architecture, or construction management
  • The ideal candidate will possess a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or demonstrate equivalent expertise in managing large-scale projects.
  • Proven experience in construction project management, preferably in food service or institutional settings.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and energy-efficient practices.
  • Experience in budget management and forecasting is considered an asset.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) contracts is considered an asset.
