Job Summary

The Internal Medicine Program at Newfoundland & Labrador Health Services (NL Health Services) invites expressions of interest from those interested in two full-time positions as a Clinical Assistant the Division of Internal Medicine at the Health Science Centre, St. John's, NL.

The Clinical Assistant will work closely with an Internal Medicine Specialist. Under such supervision, providing services in chronic disease management, acute inpatient care, long term care, palliative care, respite care, and emergency care/patient stabilization.

This position is accountable to the Clinical Chief of the Medicine Program and will work under the support of an Internal Medicine specialist and will be responsible for daily ward rounds and ward work (include arranging investigations/family meetings/availability to review patients during working hours). The position will provide inpatient care and onsite call coverage for Internal Medicine.

The opportunity of Clinical Assistant, is open to physicians with a background in Family Medicine and may even be a community Family Physician. It is also open to physicians with a specialist background. All candidates must be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Required Qualifications:

  • To be considered candidates must hold a MD

Remuneration: Salary and benefits for this position are to be paid in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador. Starting salary will be based on years of clinical experience.
