Job Description :

  • The Marketing Specialist acts as the detail level lead for the marketing planning and implementation for their business units and for THD as a whole. Their accountability is to the effective delivery of marketing communication for their specific business units and be able to clearly articulate the marketing strategies driving implementation. The successful candidate will:
  • Deliver marketing planning recommendations based on sound strategies, sales information and competitor behaviour to their Marketing, Advertising & Merchandising partners
  • Participate in the development & implementation of strategic marketing plans with cross functional groups in advertising, merchandising, finance and operations
  • Be accountable to provide marketing insights and recommendations to their business units to aid in go-forward planning


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead detail level planning, implementation and communication of business specific marketing plans to cross functional teams (merchandising, advertising, operations, etc) and act as key marketing contact for strategy implementation
  • Support Marketing Managers & business unit partners (merchandising, operations) by providing consumer insights, competitive data, sales analysis & recommendations to aid in strategic marketing planning
  • Work with Marketing Managers to lead cross functional implementation of integrated marketing events (i.e. total project events, catalogue planning, online integration, etc.)
  • Work with merchandising partners to provide tools and recommendations that aid in the development of monthly promotional programs and strategies
  • Work with Marketing Managers and creative agencies to develop & review marketing briefs and to ensure creative implementation tracks to strategy
  • Input into overall THD marketing direction and annual planning process as required
  • Participate in merchant line reviews and strategic planning with vendors as required

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must fulfill minimum time-in-position (1 year) and performance management code requirements (V2 – Valued Associate, Well Positioned)
  • 2-3 years retail marketing background and/or advertising experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word & Powerpoint
  • Able to balance multiple priorities & manage time effectively
  • Team player with ability to lead
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Proven analytical and financial skills, including strong attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic with high energy level
