Job Description:
The Corporate and Public Affairs (CAPA) department aims to inspire and connect our customers, communities and colleagues through communications, conversations and advocacy that enrich lives, deliver business outcomes and enhance our brand. Role Overview
The successful candidate will play a key role focused on execution and program management for the Chief Operating Officer (COO). This leader will support the COO's office, the strategic goals of the Bank, and oversee key programs and initiatives bringing the COO's executive engagement program including key colleague, client and community commitments and events to life.
The successful candidate will:
Oversee all COO program operations and logistics, integrating workstreams, identifying and solving issues, driving impact and working as an extension of the COO's Office, requiring flawless execution, attention to detail and judgement.
Prepare logistical briefings of management information in advance of key business meetings and events, and reporting documents on the strategic progress of CAPA initiatives and outcomes.
Oversee team that provides the highest quality preparedness for all COO meetings and events, market visits, client and stakeholder meetings.
Oversee and deliver weekly, monthly, quarterly reporting to senior audiences including COO, SET, and the Board of Directors as required.
Manage effective communication from the office of the COO, liaising with key partners to ensure timely and relevant communication.
Be the first point of contact to identify, raise and manage potential issues, solve challenges and identify new ways of working and opportunities to enhance collaboration and execution in support of engagements for the office of the COO with all stakeholders.
Provide advice and guidance to internal and external partners and parties to shape and deliver engagements to the highest standards, the reflect our commitment to our colleagues, our customers and the communities we serve.
What you bring to the role:
10+ years of experience in a corporate communications, event management, government or agency environment, or comparable communications and strategy experience.
Experience in large scale event management or chief of staff roles, ideally in financial services, government or large, publicly-traded company.
Excellent judgment, exceptional attention to detail, relationship management, and proven experience providing advice and counsel to senior leaders.
Experience leading teams of communications and events professionals, ideally in financial services or large, publicly-traded company.
Ability to drive an agenda and influence stakeholders internally and externally to bring about the right outcomes.
Proven ability to navigate in a complex or ambiguous environment, managing multiple high-priority projects or deliverables.
Organizational awareness, resourcefulness and demonstrated relationship building skills – understanding of whom to engage to identify solutions and resolve issues.
Undergraduate degree or PR/marketing/corporate communications/event management certification, designations, or equivalent required.
Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
