Job Summary
This position is responsible for the provision of physiotherapy services to outpatients with musculoskeletal problems referred to the Ambulatory Care Program. Patients referred to this service have a wide variety of problems including acute and chronic soft tissue injuries, total joint replacements, breast cancer surgery, head/neck cancer surgical dissections, degenerative musculoskeletal disorders, rheumatological disorders, acute and chronic spinal problems, and post-fracture rehabilitation needs. Supervision and delegation to Physiotherapy Support Workers is an expectation. The PT will be responsible to precept physiotherapy students and offer other clinical education experiences to students within NL Health Services.
The Clinical Physiotherapist should possess assessment and treatment skills in the musculoskeletal area. Participation in quality initiatives of the program and profession are required. This position reports to the Division Manager of the Ambulatory Care Program, receives clinical guidance from the Clinical Physiotherapist III and Clinical Physiotherapist II in the practice area, and maintains accountability to the Professional Practice Consultant for Physiotherapy for professional integrity and practice issues.
This position participates in weekend service delivery to Inpatient Orthopedics by shifting days of rest on scheduled weekends.

Job Qualifications
Graduation from an approved/recognized School of Physiotherapy program is required.
Registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Physiotherapist (NLCP) is required.
Demonstrated effective communication, both verbally and in writing with co-workers, patients and their families in a one to one and/or group environment.
Ability to direct, supervise and mentor students and physiotherapy support workers.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as a member of an interprofessional team and be able to prioritize caseload and patient needs.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
