Job Summary
The Innovation Division of NL Health Service's has established a Living Lab to develop and implement innovative ideas, methods, technologies and devices that align with the organization's strategic vision and the Provincial Government's Strategic Direction for Better Health and Better Care for Individuals. The Living Lab promotes interdisciplinary and intersectoral collaborative research, open innovation and creativity. It will help create and redesign products and services, making sure to put users - patients and their families, the community, and health professionals - at the heart of the innovation process.
We are excited to post an Innovation Department Coordinator opportunity for our innovative division. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Division Manager of the Research and Innovation Department and will be working with the Healthcare Innovation Team (HIT), while acting as a liaison with internal NL Health Service's stakeholders and external supporting subject matter experts related to the projects and programs within the Living Lab. The Departmental Program Coordinator will work with various members of the project team including external subject matter experts to oversee technical progress and execute project and program activities. The Department Program Coordinator will develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization and will build partnerships with external public and private stakeholders including entrepreneurs, vendors, contactors, private companies and Health Canada representatives in order to create and foster the implementation of innovative solutions. Key and Periodic Activities
- Participates in the development of departmental planning initiatives
- Prepares reports, presentations, and papers
- Researches various departmental/divisional issues
- Represents the department on various teams and committees
- Provides administrative support to program area (i.e. responds to information requests, maintains financial records for program area, prepares applications, supports consultation processes, liaises with consultants, responds to executive requests, maintains inventory systems, coordinates staff meetings, etc).
- Develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates various programs, services, assigned projects and special events.
- Prepares correspondence including newsletter, memos, email, reports, forms, etc.
- Performs occasional operational audits (i.e. inventory control, financial, program, etc)

A high level of visual concentration and precision required to prepare calculations, input data, audit records and review while sitting and using a calculator, keyboard, and computer mouse.
Auditory concentration is required to listen to and respond to inquiries from staff and agencies.
Job Qualifications
Education
Completion of a Business Management diploma from a recognized/approved institution.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience within the last four years working with a project team or in a coordinator role is required.
Experience working in Information Technology.
Experience with leading or participating in healthcare technology initiatives is an asset.
Experience reviewing contracts and reconciliation of financial accounts is an asset
