Position Overview:
The Production Manager at ADL is a key leadership role, overseeing all aspects of cheese production and packaging at our Water St. facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will manage production teams, coordinate resources, and ensure operations align with customer demands, organizational goals, and ADL's high standards for quality and efficiency. This role focuses on fostering a safe, collaborative, and productive environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards, and driving operational excellence.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The salary ranges from $78,000 - $84,000 and will be based on the candidate's experience and success in similar positions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management
- Plan and oversee production schedules for cheese making and packaging operations.
- Manage cream and whey flow processes while ensuring internal milk controls meet production demands.
- Optimize resource utilization, minimizing waste and maximizing productivity.
- Quality Assurance
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to maintain BRC and other certification compliance.
- Monitor cheese grading and oversee brine management and maintenance activities.
- Inventory and Logistics
- Manage and maintain inventory levels of cheese supplies and production materials.
- Work with finance and business development teams to generate reports and coordinate product shipments.
- Conduct monthly and year-end inventory counts.
- Team Leadership
- Supervise, schedule, and provide guidance to production staff, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Facilitate daily review meetings, offer constructive feedback, and address performance management needs.
- Cultivate a culture of safety, teamwork, and fairness within the production team.
- Safety and Compliance
- Enforce adherence to safety protocols, regulatory standards, and manufacturing best practices.
- Address and resolve employee safety concerns; support return-to-work programs for injured staff.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in food science, business, engineering, or operations management preferred; equivalent leadership experience in production or manufacturing will be considered.
- Strong experience in food, beverage, or related processing industries.
- Proven ability to lead teams effectively in production or manufacturing settings.
- Familiarity with HACCP and other food safety regulations is an asset.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficiency in production planning systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
