Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Director - Legal Services, this position provides legal services to all departments of NLHS. The Solicitor will provide independent legal advice in the legal fields of corporate and commercial law, financial matters, procurement and tendering law, construction law and contracts and all other contracts. This work involves providing legal review of contracts, legal opinions and strategic direction and advice to NLHS Executive and senior management on a myriad of legal issues and may include representation of NLHS in matters before the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Job Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree in law. A minimum of five years (5) experience with extensive involvement in the areas of contracts, corporate and commercial law procurement and tendering law, and construction law. Litigation experience is an asset.

The candidate should have demonstrated exceptional leadership, teamwork, analytical, and communication skills.

Candidates must be eligible for membership or be an active member, in good standing, with the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Candidates who believe they possess an equivalent combination of experience, training and personal attributes are encouraged to apply. A satisfactory record of work experience and attendance is required.
