About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controller to join our dynamic team in Halifax. This is a key role within the organization, responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for our Halifax branch.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full cycle accounting
• Accounts payable & receivable invoice/payment processing
• Account reconciliations
• Bank reconciliations
• Cash flow analysis & Budget preparation including presentation
• Data entry
• Financial Statement preparation, analysis, and reporting in a corporate environment
• Journal entries and General Ledger analysis
• Filing T1 & T2 returns
• Filing HST remittances
• Payroll & Benefits processing including remittances, ROE's, T4, T4A, & T5 generation
• Oversee the hiring, training, and development of the operational accounting team

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA Designation is required
• 3 - 5 years of hands-on full cycle accounting experience
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, as well as on a team
• Dedicated and self-motivated with outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong financial, analytical, and business acumen skills
• Experience with Accounting software such as QuickBooks is required
• Above average organizational and communication skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Benefits:

Competitive salary between $70,000 and $80,000 annually, based on experience
