The role

Under the general direction of the Manager of Planning, Engineering & Development, the Development Inspector assists in or undertakes a range of development activities, including processing development applications; offers advice and assistance to government authorities and the public on related matters; interprets and enforces the Municipal Plan and Development Regulations and municipal by-laws as they pertain to all development within the municipal boundaries of the City of Mount Pearl to ensure that development is in conformity with applicable City regulations; conducts site inspections, completes inspection reports, obtains field data and drafts reports as required.

The ideal candidate

Thorough experience in municipal planning and development application review and processing supplemented by a Diploma in Civil or Architectural Engineering Technology from a recognized post-secondary institution with eligibility for membership with the Association of Engineering Technicians and Technologists NL (AETTNL) and considerable experience in land survey and technical site plan review and inspections.
