Salary Range: $50,532 - $65,688 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Manager of Student Success and Outreach, the Engineering Outreach Coordinator is responsible for shaping and executing the outreach activities for the Faculty of Engineering. They will enhance student recruitment through a variety of outreach activities with an emphasis on underrepresented groups. In this role, they will manage the outreach and recruitment activities that include Worlds UNBound camps, workshops, and clubs and the development and delivery of a High School outreach program.
- Manage the Worlds UNBound Outreach Program for youth in K-12. Leading a team of 15 + university students in a meaningful summer work experience.
- Provide workshops to increase awareness in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields.
- Coordinate on-campus STEM summer camps and clubs providing on-campus experiences for over 460 youth each year.
- Manage outreach camps in rural and remote communities providing hands-on experiences for youth who are unable to access programming and Indigenous outreach programs in First Nations Communities
- Assist the Manager of Student Success and Outreach with fundraising, managing budgets, and recruitment of student staff.
- Lead the planning and execution of engineering-focused programs to promote the Faculty of Engineering in high schools, career fairs, community events, science fairs. open houses, etc.
- Develop and implement a high school outreach program to offer hands-on experiences with high school students on campus through lab exercises, faculty tours, and presentations.
- Develop and deliver presentations on the engineering professions and career options.
- Act as a liaison between the engineering programs/departments, the faculty of engineering, and the recruitment office.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive outreach strategy to promote awareness of our engineering initiatives and engage with relevant communities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align outreach efforts with organizational goals and objectives.
- Identify and establish partnerships with industry leaders, academic institutions, and other key stakeholders.
- Collaborate and lead initiatives on and off campus to promote DEI in engineering.
- Collaborate with the Diversity within Engineering student committee on initiatives on and off campus.
- Deploy strategic initiatives related to DEI as assigned by the Manager of Student Success and Outreach.
- Develop and curate engaging content, including articles, blog posts, and social media updates, to showcase our engineering accomplishments.
- Act as a mentor to student engineers, including supervision of student clubs and teams.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Post Secondary Education in Engineering, Science, Education or a related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related field.

- Experience recruiting, training and supervising volunteers is considered a strong asset.
- Experience in event planning and execution.
- Previous experience in engineering outreach, community engagement or a related role is considered an asset.
