In this role you will:
- Monitor beneficiary needs to determine immediate, short and long-term needs including pro-active follow up of cases where appropriate.
- Monitor provision of appropriate services as assigned by Virtual Response Team, based on Red Cross Disaster Management Standards, tools and processes as indicated by Provincial/National direction.
- Support L1 outreach during assigned hours and provide gap coverage as required.
- With support from local volunteer teams, identify gaps in the beneficiary's ability to provide for basic needs and provide guidance and referrals as appropriate. Refer more challenging/complex cases to the Response Manager.
- Monitor actions taken since the disaster, and refer to local government programs and community agencies, such as housing supports.
- Identify and report emerging trends related to individual's wellbeing and community capacity to the regional EM Coordinator to inform recovery programming.
- Ensure necessary paperwork has been completed appropriately by response teams, and maintain confidential case files as per CRC standards using applicable systems and tools.
- Maintain timely and accurate data base records of responses.
- Ensure file processing and beneficiary follow-up is completed in accordance with case management guidelines.
- Liaise with local EMVRT, PDA and other assigned teams to confirm completion and closure of responses.
- Support when extensions or additional services are required.
- Liaise with lodging facilities as required to ensure compliance with reservations, issues related to hotel damages and other issues as required.
- Support On-call EMVRT rotation as applicable or other on-call mechanism.
We are looking for:
- A post secondary diploma and 1-3 years related experience in casework or community engagement, or a combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English, French is an asset.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive and forward-thinking approach to work.
- Ability to manage multiple high priority tasks at once.
