The incumbent will be responsible for managing forecasts and planning in addition to the analysis of results for Corporate Banking in Asia and Global Investment Banking. The role also provides support for regular reporting and meeting documents for CIB and GTB in GBM. Reporting to the Director, the Manager supports management in Finance and the Business Line with timely analysis, and financial reporting. As the Bank continues its journey to be more efficient and client focused, the incumbent will be emerged in an environment of continued improvement and change management.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the integrity of the financial results and the timely completion of financial reporting. Analyzing financial performance and provide insights to senior management. Supporting and monitoring appropriate performance measurement criteria and key metrics. Providing analysis of results includes monthly and quarterly results, Bluebook, forecasts, annual plan, EWST, town hall presentations, investor relations questions, business line dashboards, monthly presentations, daily revenue tracking, among others.
  • Maintaining and developing financial measurement processes and a comprehensive business model to provide accurate and consistent assessment of financial performance for Corporate Banking in Asia and GIB globally. This includes developing and analyzing key input data (e.g. transfer pricing, interest rates, FX rates, financial ratios, attributed capital, RWA, etc.) Fluency with the Bank's financial reporting and planning systems (EGL, OBI, Hyperion) is required.
  • Supporting the business lines: The incumbent will be the key point of contact between Corporate Banking in Asia and GIB with Finance, providing support, information and directing the requirements initiated from the business lines to appropriate channels in Finance.
  • Performing a key role as subject matter specialist for Hyperion/OBI and will help to build reports, monthly presentations and during Plan/Forecast updates to the financial systems.
  • Ensuring that appropriate objectives are set and monitored to enable achievement of departmental goals. Contributing positively to employee satisfaction/loyalty (Scotia Pulse) to improve, and leverage team performance and satisfaction.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have the following:

  • University degree in Business or Economics, preferably with MBA.
  • CFA or CPA is an asset.
  • A minimum 5 years financial reporting/planning & analysis experience in a banking environment. Familiarity with lending and deposit products, transfer pricing, margin analysis and capital management are definite assets.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial reporting and planning tools (EGL, OBI, Hyperion, Smartview).
  • Strong knowledge about profitability measurement particularly in terms of banking products and the structure of bank balance sheets.
