Job Description:

Department Overview

The mandate of the Claims Analytics and Strategy team is to improve customer experience, colleague experience and optimize claims costs through providing deep analyses and understanding of the claim processes to stakeholders.

This team is a multidisciplinary team that collaborates with actuaries, claims adjusters, data experts and data scientists. This is a unique opportunity to join a team of experienced actuaries in order to apply and develop your analytical and business acumen skills by having a direct impact on the improvement of the claim processes at TD Insurance.

Job Description

  • Provide deep analytics on business results and performance to identify strategies to mitigate the impact of inflation and the increasing claims costs

  • Collaborate with various partners in multidisciplinary and multi-level analyses to define and solve complex problems statements impacting the claims services

  • Develop robust process and tools to proactively monitor key performance indicators to identify emerging trends impacting insurance and claim costs

  • Participate in initiatives that will improve customer claim experience by proposing solutions leveraging insights from data and analytics

  • Share ideas and recommendations with stakeholders and actuaries in other teams

  • Communicate and explain financial and analytical concepts to a non-technical and frontline audience

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of actuarial experience in Property & Casualty

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Actuarial Sciences or related field

  • Minimum of 2 to 4 actuarial exams of the Casualty Actuarial Society

  • Analytical mind and ability to make sound decisions

  • Leadership and strong aptitude for team work

  • Ability to develop and empower top talent

  • Excellent organization and time management skills

  • Be creative in finding solutions to complex problems

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Proficiency in programing or using analytical tools (R, Python, SQL, VBA, etc.)
