Job Description:

As part of the AI Platform, within Data as a Service (DaaS), our passion is to advance AI capabilities and deliver AI-powered solutions to optimize processes, maximize productivity and increase value for our customers and colleagues. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AI/ML Cloud Engineer to join our team and drive the delivery of cutting-edge enterprise capabilities and solutions on the Azure AI Platform. In this role, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure & code assets specifically tailored to support our ambitious AI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Design and Implementation: Develop and deploy scalable, reliable, and efficient cloud-based solutions tailored for our AI initiatives. This includes selecting suitable Azure services, configuring resources, and optimizing performance to ensure smooth integration with our AI models and applications.
  • AI Model Integration: Deploy AI models into production environments using Azure AI Platform tools such as Azure ML, Azure AI Studio, Open AI, Vector Databases, and Databricks.
  • Cloud Services Management: Implement and manage cloud-based services and infrastructure, including compute, storage, access, and networking.
  • Collaboration: Partner with engineers to design scalable and resilient platforms that fully utilize cloud services. Work with architects, data scientists, platform engineers, AI security teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and success in our AI projects.
  • Automation and Orchestration: Develop automation and orchestration processes to streamline workflows and minimize manual intervention for AI applications. Use tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Kubernetes to automate deployment and management.
  • API Management: Develop and manage APIs for model inferencing in a serverless environment, leveraging cloud services for efficient and cost-effective solutions.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure the security and compliance of cloud-based AI solutions. Work with AI security teams to implement necessary controls and safeguards for sensitive data and intellectual property.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of AI workloads and cloud resources. Analyze resource utilization, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies such as rightsizing instances, using spot instances, and leveraging auto-scaling capabilities.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and AI applications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in cloud computing and AI technologies. Continuously enhance the frameworks and tools that support our AI and ML capabilities.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within the AI (3 - 5 years) and tech industry experience (3 to 5 years) .
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Programming: Competency in Python, SQL, Spark. Experience in Scala, Java, C++ is a plus.
  • Big Data Technologies: Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.) with deep knowledge of data engineering and ETL processes.
  • Machine Learning and AI: Good understanding of overall machine learning and generative AI applications.
  • Cloud Technical Expertise: Experience with Azure AI Platform and AI tools like Azure ML, Azure AI Studio, Open AI, Vector Databases, and Databricks.
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
  • MLOps Practices: Familiarity of DevOps concepts and hands on experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Problem-Solving and Collaboration: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Cloud Certifications: Certification in cloud platforms.
