We are currently looking for a full time Forester to join our Freeman Lumber Woodlands Team. This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will be responsible for leading a team (including contractors) in planning and the supervision of silviculture, woodlot management and operations planning.
Managing a woodlands silviculture and forest management program. This would include both company, crown and privately owned woodlots.
Commitment to safety, environment, quality and respecting landowner values.
Planning, and scheduling all aspects of harvesting, silviculture and road construction.
Growing landowner base of third-party certified woodlots.
Maintaining and improving stakeholder relations with suppliers, landowners, contractors and community organizations.
Preparing, monitoring and reporting on forest management outcomes and silviculture objectives.
Performance management of employee and contractors
Performing all other reasonable duties as required.

Qualifications:
· A strong work ethic with a strong desire to work in the forest
· Possess a recognized University Degree or College Diploma in forestry, or natural resource management
· Minimum 3 years relevant forestry/operational experience
· Supervisory experience
· Valid Driver's license
Relocation:
· Relocation assistance maybe provided as required. A company housing is available close to the mill location.
Compensation: Starting $80,000 - $90,000 Annually
Hours of Work:
· Typically, Monday to Friday 7 am - 5 pm
· Weekend work on occasion
