The Team

The Application Support team is responsible for providing production support and maintaining applications within Global Payments Technology that primarily services small business, commercial and corporate clients. With your BA, systems support analysts, and developer teammates, the vision is to provide technical support and solutions to meet the needs of our customers.

The role:

To support the vision, we are seeking a Technical Business Analyst who will play an important part in the team to achieve the desired goals by contributing technically and analytically to meet the needs of our partners and help find a solution to the issues our customers face. You will work closely with the labs and lab leads under your portfolio as a liaison to Application Support, and Operational Support teams to ensure all Operational Readiness documents are completed. You will be expected to provide recommendations on best practices and enhancements that are in line with the bank's technology road map. In addition, the candidate will also work towards identifying knowledge gaps and helping formulate solutions to narrow the gaps by creating, designing, and facilitating training to Application Support. Finally, you will be contributing to projects outside the day-to-day tasks such as migration projects.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Efficiently support labs to meet business objectives by obtaining and analyzing health check requirements, documenting and communicating those requirements to Application Support, and training them on how to perform the health check on production environment. The incumbent must ensure that Application Support is equipped with the right tools and access to perform the health checks independently.

  • Provide production support training by identifying knowledge gaps, designing, facilitating, and assessing the training solutions including maintaining the repository of training resources on Confluence Page. The incumbent is required to be part of continued development and maintenance of multiple training resources.

  • Assist project leader or Manager on projects the team has been assigned by providing backup support to the Project Leader or Manager, assisting with the development of detailed workplaces and monitoring progress against plan.

  • Provide technical guidance and review to other team members by conducting technical walkthroughs.

  • Keep current on rapidly changing technological trends, document, self teach new technologies and maintain an understanding of the department's business and technology strategies.

  • Conduct a semi-annual review of existing Operational Support Model to ensure accuracy and usability of documents.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel

  • Database and programming languages (SQL)

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow and Confluence

  • Good interpersonal and expert communication skills written and verbally to colleagues, senior management, external vendors, and various business lines

  • Experience with JavaScript, database skills, including MS-SQLSERVER and write simple to medium SQL queries.

  • Knowledge with projects involving Mainframe (COBOL) preferred
