Associate, Treasury Management Officer, Global Transaction Banking
Purpose
As an Associate Treasury Management Officer (TMO) you will work closely with Corporate & Investment Bankers (CIBs) while supporting with the management of a specific portfolio with annual revenues greater than $2 billion. You'll serve as a single point of contact across all markets, offering dedicated Global Transaction Banking (GTB) coverage for all products. TMOs will be organized by industry sector and coordinate the overall GTB relationship with in-country subsidiary coverage to provide a consistent and simplified client experience. By leveraging your knowledge in global liquidity management, payables and receivables optimization, alternative and emerging payments, foreign exchange, working capital solutions, and digital transformation, you'll strengthen existing connections, prospect new ones and introduce clients to strategic partners as you deliver Scotiabank's global value proposition and local transaction banking platform.
What you'll do:
- Assist in prospecting and sourcing new transaction banking business while retaining and expanding existing client relationships.
- Provide support to senior TMOs in managing relationships with CFOs, Treasurers, VPs of Finance, and Controllers.
- Take ownership of daily tasks and processes and special projects.
- Coordinate with solutions specialists to deliver a seamless end to end client experience and conduct data analysis to support with client sales opportunities.
- Work with internal product stakeholders to represent client perspectives in the development and evolution of products and solutions.
- Support with regulatory requests from regional regulators
- Collaborate with key partners including Group Treasury, Global Risk Management, Capital Markets, Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Operations, Fulfillment and Servicing.
What you'll bring:
- 3+ years of transaction banking experience incl. global cash management, liquidity management, trade & working capital solutions, and / or corporate banking or global banking experience.
- Basic understanding of transaction banking products, credit and risk processes and pricing philosophy.
- Excellent communication skills with a track record in building relationships with clients and prospects.
- Proven negotiation, active listening, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Concern and regard for managing operational and enterprise risk.
- Bachelor's degree, MBA or equivalent
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation an asset
- International banking experience is an asset
- Proven track record of prioritizing competing priorities Spanish / English Language competency is an advantage
Working Conditions:
- Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
- Domestic and International travel required
- The incumbent is expected to work a minimum of three days per week in the office. Please note that this could change depending on business needs.
