Job Description:

  • Job Description Summary

Develop, manage, lead and / or deliver complex and need-to-know documentation and communications on Information Technology (IT) products / processes / guidelines and technical training for an internal audience, which includes both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Working for an infrastructure and enterprise architecture team, you will plan, write, design and deliver online documentation that is accurate, well-written and engaging, and is consistent with user-centered design principles and TD's corporate standards and strategies.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

CUSTOMER

  • Write, design layouts and publish internal online documentation, including user guides, product specifications, infrastructure architecture strategies and guidelines, registration forms, announcements and infographics
  • Plan, write and deliver supporting communications, including email marketing messages and newsletters
  • Assist with developing internal architecture events, including the development of PowerPoint presentations, email invitations, registration forms and post-launch reports
  • Assist with the planning, scriptwriting, storyboarding, recording and development of online micro-learning and how-to videos
  • Drive leading-edge use of visual media: video, photography, interactive digital features and infographics, to transform technical knowledge in compelling, engaging and consumable ways
  • Understand key business partners' objectives, direction and ongoing initiatives, and advise the leadership teams on appropriate documentation / communications strategies and tactics
  • Manage on-going relationships with key business partners and/or third parties to assists in developing and delivering key technical messages, and coordinate internal architecture communication activities and project deliverables
  • Develop and establish content standards and editorial guidelines for internal documentation
  • Support initiatives, such as online user surveys and polls, to measure the effectiveness of documentation and communication, and recommend improvements
  • Prepare and manage budgets for each project within the agreed upon parameters
  • Participate in project scoping and preplanning sessions, proactively providing advice and expertise on recommended tactics and solutions
  • Proactively acknowledge and identify documentation/content gaps; notify management promptly where appropriate, and work with team to resolve
  • Exercise judgment in dealing with sensitive reputational issues

  • Prioritize and manage own workload to meet service level requirements for service and productivity
  • Adhere to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to activities for respective business area(s)
  • Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalate issues where appropriate
  • Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and ensure the prompt and thorough resolution of escalated non-standard, high risk issues
  • Apply subject matter expertise in the discipline, provide guidance, assistance and direction to others
  • Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines, corporate and/or control functions and ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

  • Lead, motivate and develop relationships with internal and external business partners / stakeholders to develop productive working relationships.

  • Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank, both internally and/or externally

BREADTH & DEPTH

  • Manage multiple documentation and communications projects / programs / initiatives of moderate scope and complexity
  • As a highly seasoned technical writer, bring substantial knowledge / expertise in online content development and user experience design to documentation projects
  • Integrate knowledge of the enterprise sub-function's or business line's overarching strategy to develop solutions across multiple functions or operations
  • Interpret internal business challenges and the industry environment, recommend course of action and best practices to improve products, processes or services
  • As an experienced member of cross-functional teams, act as a technical expert integrating cross-functional understanding within their own field of specialty
  • Solve or lead others to solve complex problems; lead efforts or partners with others to develop new solutions
  • Use sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify solutions
  • Impact the achievement of sub-function or business line objectives within the area they are accountable for
  • Allow work to be guided by policies and industry standards/methods
  • Work autonomously, as needed, and guide others within area of expertise
  • Generally, report to a Senior Manager or above

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required
  • 7+ years relevant experience
  • Excellent knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, architecture, and services
  • Experience with Cloud computing technologies and products
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with UX design and principles
  • Experience in a software development or delivery environment
