The Role
Contributes to the overall success of Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets (GBM) globally, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. The Senior Manager, Marketing leads and drives a client-focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge, while keeping the bank safe.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Implement strategic marketing and communications plans for business line(s):
- Working closely with GBM, product management and alliance partners, identify and manage the development, design and execution of marketing strategies and events for business lines, client programs and marketing plans to capitalize on competitive opportunities with a particular focus on Corporate and Investment Banking as well as The Scotiabank Women Initiative.
- Working closely with GBM, product management and alliance partners, identify and manage the development, design and execution of marketing strategies and events for business lines, client programs and marketing plans to capitalize on competitive opportunities with a particular focus on Corporate and Investment Banking as well as The Scotiabank Women Initiative.
- Manage marketing and communications needs including coordinating the use of services provided by centralized Global Marketing units, managing vendor relationships, applying brand standards and ensuring that all deliverables are completed on time and on budget.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with GBM including acting as a marketing consultant, communicating marketing objectives, representing their interests in cross-functional activities, project managing marketing-related activities and providing ad hoc support that allows the business to capitalize on competitive opportunities. Provide project management, support and expertise to business line staff with respect to marketing, thought leadership, sponsorship programs and sales support activities.
- Support adherence to the Global Banking and Markets brand positioning, maintain brand standards and promote key messages, consistent with the Scotiabank GBM brand guidelines and visual identity, ensuring consistency of message and presentation across all business line marketing activities.
- Work with other members of the GBM Marketing team and Global Marketing units as appropriate to develop and execute integrated interdivisional marketing programs focused on shared business banking segments.
- Contribute to marketing strategy development and annual marketing planning.
- Analyze research and the competitive landscape to deliver strategic insights.

Uses a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vision/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We'd love to work with you if you have:
- University degree with Major in Marketing, with 7+ years' experience in a marketing management role.
- Complete of the Canadian Securities Course is an asset
- Broad knowledge of financial markets and capital markets.
- Incumbent must be considered an expert in his/her field and provide credible advice and counsel to business line management (VP and higher) as it relates to marketing communications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Spanish language skills an asset.
- Strong persuasion and negotiating skills, to build constructive, supported solutions and obtain co-operation and support from stakeholders and senior management and cost-effective deliverables from agencies and third-party vendors.
- Ability to build strong relationships with senior management teams of the business lines and of Global Marketing.
- Strong coordination, strategic influencing and people management skills, to facilitate strong teamwork and coordinated execution of multiple deliverables.
- Detailed understanding of customer segment(s), products/services and value propositions as well as online media and the use of technology in marketing.
- The incumbent must demonstrate significant maturity and credibility in dealing with executives, and must be able to work on a highly independent basis.
