Job Description

Cascade is currently looking for an experienced and enthusiastic GSE/Tooling Planner to join our team. This is a non-union position. This position reports to the Facilities/Tooling Manager.

Only Canadian Residents or Permanent Residents will be considered at this time.

Major Responsibilities & Duties
  1. Work with Planning to plan tooling/GSE (Ground Service Equipment) required for incoming aircraft, including having a detailed schedule that aligns with the aircraft hangar plan
  2. Plan the tooling calibration activities to ensure tooling is available when required
  3. Manage out of calibration tools
  4. Plan and monitor the service due schedule for tooling/GSE
  5. Prioritize the unserviceable tooling and GSE repairs
  6. Analyze tooling and GSE requirements and recommend new tooling/GSE, replacement of old tooling/GSE and disposal of unnecessary or beyond economic repair tooling/GSE, including new aircraft type requirements
  7. Conduct parts research for tools/GSE needing replacement parts
  8. Ensure supply of appropriate manuals for the operation and maintenance of the tools/GSE
  9. Provide guidance and training for departmental personnel, including use of Tool Hound (software program)
  10. Be Cascade's Tool Hound Subject Matter Expert
  11. Conduct a regular Tool Crib audit using a WIP scorecard approach
  12. Review and draft changes for the tooling/GSE DMS documents
  13. Manage tooling/GSE loans to/from customers and other companies
  14. Be familiar with, and act in a manner which reflects Cascade Aerospace's Policies and Procedures including, but not limited to, culture and values, respectful workplace, health and safety, attendance, and security
Core Skills
  • Excellent communication skills: fluent written and verbal English is mandatory
  • Solid understanding of what tools and GSE are required and how they function
  • Intermediate Computer Skills: word processing, spreadsheet and database programs
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to liaise with departments such as Planning, Operations, Purchasing and Stores
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • General knowledge of manufacturing, maintenance, repair and modification of aircraft or systems and components in the areas of any of the following trades: Mechanics, Avionics, Structures, or Composites
  • Ability to ensure that approved standards of Quality Control are maintained
  • Safe work practices and techniques
Experience
  • Minimum 4+ years' experience with tooling and GSE required
  • 48+ months aviation related experience preferred
  • Experience in the following departments considered an asset: Planning & Operations
  • Experience providing mentorship/support
  • Experience in liaising with multiple stakeholders
