Job Description:

The Canadian Personal Banking (CPB) Vendor Management Office (VMO) is responsible for best-in-class vendor management oversight and governance for vendor engagements within Canadian Personal Banking, Credit Cards, Real Estate and Unsecured Lending as well as a number of critical enterprise vendor relationships that we manage at the Enterprise level. Our responsibilities include robust assessment of vendor risks, adherence to regulatory/compliance policies and controls, expense management and payments, and ongoing vendor relationship management.

The Vendor Performance Management Team supports financial expense management and vendor performance metric reporting for a diverse array of vendors, delivering financial analysis, invoice reconciliation, expense reporting while supporting contract negotiations, Request for Proposal (RFP) analysis, Project, and Business case analysis.

Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and a dynamic individual to join our team within Vendor Performance Management. The Senior Vendor Analyst will be responsible for accurate calculation, validation, reporting and forecasting of Vendor Performance. Also, the SVA will be focused on process enhancements using PowerBI. The team works closely with various partners across the VMO and Finance professionals. This team comprises of multi-functional, energetic and are high performing individuals who support a diverse group of vendor management professionals, partners, and stakeholders. The successful candidate will take on new challenges in supporting the development of new performance metrics, performance management models & contractual service level agreements for existing and new vendor relationships.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the consolidation, reporting and analysis for monthly and quarterly results, planning and forecasting.

  • Partner with Finance for month-end accounting and financial processes.

  • Provide/review insightful and relevant commentary to senior management on business results, forecast and Plan that provide a reasonable view of the future for the business to improve decision-making.

  • Assist in the development and review of presentation materials intended to communicate business results to executives. Summarize large amounts of information into meaningful key messages.

  • Proactively identify business opportunities warranting further review and analysis; identify and assist business in solving any financial challenges.

  • Lead Internal process standardization/optimization efforts for the team to get to the Target Operating Model using Macros and PowerBI.

  • Responsible for ensuring the team is compliant within Business Managed Technology (BMT) Policies.

  • Manage day-to-day inquiries from project and product teams and other Stakeholders related to the vendor pricing/spending.

  • Act as a knowledge leader for each area's accountabilities and performance.

  • Create and deliver ad-hoc analyses, special projects/reports and training as required to aid partner understanding.

  • Participate fully as a member of the team and contribute to a positive work environment that encourages productivity, professionalism, and teamwork.

Job Requirements

Qualifications / Competencies:

  • Undergraduate degree in business.

  • 4+ years of experience in a business or banking environment.

  • Previous experience in planning, forecasting, and financial analysis. Experience supporting Vendor Manager preferred.

  • Experience in dealing with 3rd party vendors would be an asset.

  • Experience using financial reporting systems (e.g., Macros, Tableau, and PowerBI).

  • Highly proficient in MS Excel.

  • Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities.

  • Proven track record and experience in leading continuous improvement or process improvement projects and initiatives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Proactive self-starter with abilities to work both independently and with a team.

  • Must be able to think conceptually ("out-of-the-box") and have a high degree for attention to detail.

  • Proficient in time management and demonstrated adaptability when changes are required.

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision in an unstructured and fast-paced environment.

  • Strong comfort level in presenting to executives.

  • Ability to proactively follow up on identified issues and work toward resolution.

  • Demonstrates excellent judgment and professionalism when dealing with various partners.
