Not only is the department responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways, it also manages the planning, design and construction of hospitals, schools and other government buildings.

What you will do

Reporting to the Office Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following responsibilities:

  • providing a variety of administrative support services to the general public and all levels of staff within the office;
  • maintaining a current and accurate filing system;
  • maintaining spreadsheets and various programs for updates:
  • processing work orders;
  • tracking of incoming/outgoing correspondence;
  • word processing;
  • maintain a supplies inventory;
  • contributing to team efforts by performing various other related administrative duties to the district as require and assigned.

  • Office location: Saint John
  • Open office layout.
  • Standard hours of work: Monday â?? Friday

Essential qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED supplemented by the successful completion of a one (1) year post-secondary program in the area of business, office management or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing administrative support in an office environment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

Asset Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following asset:

  • Experience in accounting and/or finance.

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application the asset qualification in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

SALARY:

Administrative Services Level 3: $1,625.00 to $1,971.00 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.
