About the Role

The Physiotherapist provides services and programs to 50 residents at The Sagewood and 71 residents at The Magnolia, as well as staff and care partners. This is a 0.8FTE position.

Performance Requirements

A knowledge of the psychological, social, cultural, spiritual and economic aspects of care of the elderly. To be open to resident engagement and open to the Eden philosophies and person centered care.

Show sound professional judgment and initiative based on training, experience and standards of care in the field of physiotherapy.

To assess residents referred to Physiotherapy for care, establish a treatment plan and provide recommendations to the elders and care team.

To provide follow up and reassessment as required.

To delegate components of treatment to the Therapy Assistant as per professional guidelines.

To maintain effective communication with the residents, families, care team members and leadership team.

To assist in staff development by facilitating and developing education programs that meet new ongoing WCB and best practice guidelines.

To educate resident, family member and partners in care as applicable to the care plan.

To maintain accurate treatment and progress notes and discharge summaries in accordance with professional standards of practice.

To document following established guidelines at Rosecrest communities.

To develop and maintain quality improvement statistics and indicators.

To participate in continuous quality improvement.

The Physiotherapist will comply with the Code of Ethics and the Rules of Conduct of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
