Steele Honda is seeking a Tool Room Attendant to join our team!
As a Tool Room Attendant at Steele Honda, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the parts department. Your responsibilities will include direct interaction with customers, suppliers, and technicians, offering information, service, and utilizing the online parts catalogue to source required components.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Efficiently manage the check-in and check-out process of shop tools and equipment for technicians, ensuring meticulous record-keeping to account for the proper use and availability of special tools
- Control/limit flow of Technicians for use of downdraft booth, hydraulic brake press and brake lathe
- Conduct thorough inspections of shop tools and equipment both before and after each use, promptly notifying the Production Manager of any issues or damage that may arise
- Undertake the responsibility of maintaining shop equipment and special tools, which includes tasks such as replacing empty refrigerant canisters in AC machines, fitting tips on brake lathes, updating and confirming the functionality of scan tools, inspecting and repairing electrical cords on equipment, installing wire spools in welders, and monitoring Oxyacetylene stock
- Assist with ordering of stock when required
- Uphold a clean and organized toolroom by cleaning tools daily and after each use, promptly reporting any discreet or hidden damage to tools, and ensuring the overall safety of technicians
- Change filters in the down draft booth regularly to prevent the buildup of airborne contaminants and promote an uncluttered workspace to avoid distractions for technicians using equipment
- Utilize InspectionPAL for comprehensive equipment inspections, ensuring that all necessary maintenance is promptly addressed, and the equipment remains safe for use
- Contribute to the general cleanup of shop areas and facilitate the efficient operation of waste oil furnace tanks by ensuring they are adequately filled
Requirements:
- Previous automotive experience would be considered an asset but not required
- Knowledge of Scan Tools, Brake Lathe, A/C Machine, MIG Welder, Vehicle Lift/Hoist Operation, Bench Grinder considered an asset
- Excellent customer service skills and a professional telephone manner
- Fluency with Microsoft Office software
- A positive attitude and excellent work ethic
- An eagerness to learn and strong attention to detail
